We are writing to announce an open position for Director on the South Shore Golf RI Corp Board. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our board and contribute to the continued success of the South Shore Village Golf Club.
About South Shore Golf RI Corp
The corporation’s purpose is to operate a golf course for the benefit of two charities: South County Hospital Healthcare (one-third share) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Inc. (two-thirds share). All charitable distributions will be made for exempt purposes under Section 501(c)(3).
Position Summary
The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Golf Club.
Key Responsibilities Include:
– Managing the Golf Club: Overseeing financial health, developing strategic plans, ensuring legal compliance, and evaluating performance.
– Leadership: Representing the club to the community, fostering positive relationships with staff and members, and increasing public engagement.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with:
– Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. – Experience in financial management, preferably in non-profit organizations. – Knowledge of the golf industry and a passion for golf.
– Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
– Commitment to the mission and values of South Shore Golf RI.
Additional Information
– This is a volunteer position. The current term finishes on December 31, 2026, with eligibility for reappointment on January 1, 2027.
– Board meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis, typically occurring every other week for approximately two hours. Meeting times are set collaboratively to accommodate members’ availability.
– Board members are expected to actively participate in committees and events.
